TheHP 48canhandleonlyobjects,sowewillusetheCodeobject(seeChapter 11)tocontainamachinelanguageprogram. Theproblemisincreatingthisobject.Usingamoregeneralapproach,we willseehowtocreateanytypeofobject.Wehaveseenthatanyobjectcan berepresentedbyaseriesofhexadecimaldigits.Wewillwriteafunc-tion totransformasequenceofhexadecimaldigitsintothecorresponding object.Theuserwillsimplyenterastringofcharacterscontainingthedig- itstobetransformedintoacorrespondingseriesofnibbles. Inastring,charactersarestoredusingtheirASCIIcode.Forexample,the hexadecimaldigitAis10indecimal,andisstoredas#41hinASCII.There isasimpleobjectthatconsistsofhexadecimaldigitswheneditedbutis storedasnibblesinmemory.ThisobjectistheGROB,orgraphicsobject. Thetransformationfromhexdigitstonibbleswillbedoneusingthisobject.
